Worksheet: Dr. Faustus: A Play by Christopher Marlowe

Here is my Response to the given task Click Here

Q........The play directed by Matthew Dunster for Globe theatre ends with this scene (see the image of Lucifer). What does it signify?

Last Scene: Lucifer with wide wings

The play directed by Mathew Dunster for globe theatre its very well performed and at the end of the play the image of Lucifer become more powerful and evill wins against the God and he become superbero of the piay and we also find that how our one wrong decisiom and more desire to achieve any thing to any cost sometimes It's lead to wards tregedy or downtall like Dr . Faustus.

Q...... Is God present in the play? If yes, where and how? If No, why?

yes  As to how God is portryed some critics say that Faustus confuses the old Testament representation of a vengeful and with the new Testament meraful God and fails to seen forgiveness because of this confusion other critics hold that this position isn't supported in the text Faustus comversation with the old man indicate a clear understanding and portrayal of christ as the emissary of a incrciful, forgiving God Further , Faustus last speech portrags God clearly as a loving God who is ever present with the offer of forgiveness.

Q....... What reading and interpretation can be given to this image (see the image of Daedalus and Icarus) with reference to central theme of the play Dr. Faustus?

Dr Faustus and Myth of lcarus both are simiar because Faustus try to lcross the limits of nature and God or divine and in Myth of i carus and it is the main theme in both literary work because when we achieve something good at that time how to use ?is important in a good way or bad way but in that both work the main hero used in wrong way.
